Everything we do, from our very first breath of life, has some kind of environmental impact—that is an undeniable fact.
The more of us that recognize this truth and understand that in order to sustain life we must adjust our behaviors with swift and sure positive actions, the more we could do to minimize our impact. Better still, we could begin to make informed decisions and conscious choices that when carried out in our daily lives, in a manner that offers the most positive environmental impact possible, we will make significant differences.
I don’t know about you, but while I like the idea of living as “green” as possible, and I make every effort to, it just isn’t realistic to think I can do everything all at once. I need to drive my car for work at least once each week. I still like being able to flip on a light in the middle of the night, eat bananas (in December in Wisconsin), and wear mascara. So I have learned to compensate in other ways and make the most of my available choices and encourage the greatest positive impact possible. Let’s be real about the notion of living sustainably: living this intentionally requires a lot of time, patience, diligence, and passion; my little family lives it every day!
Ultimately, we created BabyStepstoBetterChoices.com because we are driven to protect and preserve the beautiful gifts that nature provides us—every day, in every way possible—for all generations to come.
We continue to live in transition and we continue to learn sometimes very hard lessons. We hope the tips, ideas, and information we share will help anyone who wants to live more sustainably do so.
It can be a bit overwhelming and intimidating thinking about how or where to start, and then there’s all that conflicting information out there—who do you trust? Who do you believe? That’s why I spend hours researching—it’s my time to live more intentionally and to find out for myself where the truth lies. Truly, my little family did not get to where we are with one leap. We took baby steps—Baby Steps to Better Choices.
We hope you’ll join us and invite others to join in the fun too!
Oh, what would you think about becoming our friend and, to borrow a phrase from Paul Harvey, learning “the rest of the story” about the life events that kicked our personal transition into full swing! Just friend us!
